Review: I love the book….I love all the characters in the book ..Wes is probably my favorite. All of Dessen’s lead guy characters are AMAZING…

Dessen does a great job at bringing Macy's new friends to life: accident-prone, pregnant caterer Delia bickering brothers Wes and Bert, lively Kristy and her sister Monica "Monotone".

When I finished this book I felt: I love this book… and every time I read it I love it more. And I love the idea of a relationship like Macy and Wes’s…

I had high expectations what I read this book and I wasn’t disappointed.Sarah Dessen pulled off a worn plot with grace and an unexpected twist. The characters were easy to relate to. There were definitely moments of awe and other moments I was cheering Macy on. The meaning is great and it had me thinking about what forever really is. I’d definitely recommend The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen to anyone who enjoys books with three dimensional characters, a touch of romance, and a great plot.

This is the very first post to announce an epic year long blogging adventure that will take place here at The Lit Express. I AM SO EXCITED I couldn't sleep last night. No joke!

So do you want the gist of it?

I've written a book. It's a YA paranormal romance novel that I've decided not to try and publish traditionally (via publishing house, etc). I have decided to post it on my blog in weekly installments until the whole book is available to the public for free.

Say what?

I'm doing this because it will be fun. And we all need some good fun!!!! Charles Dickens published some of his major work in installments. So did George Eliot. And now Rane Anderson will do it too.

What can you expect in the next few months? Well, it's going to take some time to prepare. I'll be posting about it regularly leading up to the very first launch day (April 11, 2011!). I'm working with a very talented artist to create a cover for the book and a new illustration for each post! I can't wait to see my characters come alive on paper!!!!

This March, When you Take Water, Give Water

If you go to a restaurant this week, as you sit down for your meal chances are you aren’t thinking about tap water. That’s probably because clean and plentiful drinking water is a daily privilege millions of us take for granted.

Unfortunately, the lack of clean and accessible drinking water is one of the most urgent health crises facing children all over the world.

Nearly 900 million people do not have access to clean water or adequate sanitation.  Every day, 22,000 children die of preventable causes, and water related illnesses is the second largest killer of children under five.

UNICEF works in more than 100 countries around the world to improve access to safe water and sanitation facilities in schools and communities and to promote safe hygiene practices. Since 1990, UNICEF has helped 1.6 billion people gain access to clean water and sanitation. UNICEF’s goal is to reduce by half the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe water and basic sanitation by 2015.

During World Water Week, March 20-26, 2011, restaurants are helping UNICEF save lives by doing something incredibly simple – inviting patrons to donate $1 or more for the tap water they usually enjoy for free.

Since 2007, the UNICEF Tap Project has provided $2.5 million towards water and sanitation programs for children in Belize, Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Guatemala, Haiti, Iraq, Togo and Vietnam. In 2010 alone, the UNICEF Tap Project raised over $1 million to help fund water and sanitation programs for children in Vietnam, Togo, Haiti, Guatemala and Central African Republic.

As a UNICEF Tap Project Volunteer, I am working with thousands of other volunteers in Lexington, Sc and nationwide who are recruiting restaurants planning numerous fundraising and awareness-building events in their communities to support the campaign. I believe in the work of UNICEF and am doing whatever it takes to save a child’s life. You can help too!  By dining at a  participating UNICEF Tap Project restaurant or attending a UNICEF Tap Project event, you’re helping UNICEF to reduce the number of needless deaths  to zero-- just $1 raised can provide a child with safe drinking water for 40 days.

All 2011 donations to the UNICEF Tap Project will support UNICEF water programs, in Togo, Vietnam and the Central African Republic.

I hope that the citizens of Lexington, Sc and USA will support the UNICEF Tap Project. It’s so easy!                 I must say when I saw the title of the book I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not but it still caught my eye. I as everyone else would have defiantly compared the book to Pride and Prejudice, but than thought otherwise. Comparing Prom and prejudice to Pride and Prejudice wont be right thing to do.   There are similarities but there are differences too.

                In this book, Lizzie is taunted and treated badly because of her status as a scholarship student. I couldn’t wait till all the other Pride and Prejudice characters show up, and was little surprised well a good kind of surprised. Like I said before I wasn’t sure if I would have liked the book but as the story progressed I was caught into it and was not able to stop well until the end. My other main draw beside Lizzie was Darcy. He seemed snobby but was still nice to Lizzie. Lizzie misinterprets a lot of what she sees and hears about Darcy. There arguments made me smile. they had lots of cute moment. the  silent walk they had made me smile. its hard to explain but sometime when you reading something really good or something really romantic u can just feel it, and i felt it when Lizzie's say there was silence between them but it wasn't awkward. somehow i knew what she meant. i just love every part of the book. 

             I loved the ending. Don’t worry I wont spoil it for people who still haven’t read it. I really like Lizzie’s character because she is a middle class girl who works and also plays piano to keep up with her scholarship. She is portrayed as a Hardworking girl, which was nice. Overall I love the book. I love the concept and every bit of the book.

           You know the book is amazing when you can feel everything that's going on in the book, when you can picture every little details. and thats exactly how i felt when i was reading it. I am not sure if everyone else would like it but i defiantly loved it. Elizabeth Eulberg did a great job with this book and i cant wait to read more book she writes.
