Macy's summer stretches before her, carefully planned and outlined. She will spend her days sitting at the library information desk. She will spend her evenings studying for the SATs. Spare time will be used to help her obsessive mother prepare for the big opening of the townhouse section of her luxury development. But Macy's plans don't anticipate a surprising and chaotic job with Wish Catering, a motley crew of new friends, or ... Wes. Tattooed, artistic, anything-but-expected Wes. He doesn't fit Macy's life at all--so why does she feel so comfortable with him? So ... happy? What is it about him that makes her let down her guard and finally talk about how much she misses her father, who died before her eyes the year before? Sarah Dessen delivers a page-turning novel that carries readers on a roller coaster of denial, grief, comfort, and love as we watch a broken but resilient girl pick up the pieces of her life and fit them back together.

Review: I love the book….I love all the characters in the book ..Wes is probably my favorite. All of Dessen’s lead guy characters are AMAZING…

Dessen does a great job at bringing Macy's new friends to life: accident-prone, pregnant caterer Delia bickering brothers Wes and Bert, lively Kristy and her sister Monica "Monotone".

When I finished this book I felt: I love this book… and every time I read it I love it more.

I had high expectations what I read this book and I wasn’t disappointed.Sarah Dessen pulled off a worn plot with grace and an unexpected twist. The characters were easy to relate to. There were definitely moments of awe and other moments I was cheering Macy on. The meaning is great and it had me thinking about what forever really is. I’d definitely recommend The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen to anyone who enjoys books with three dimensional characters, a touch of romance, and a great plot.

Vidishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09534693699879901344noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9017392832530370145.post-62807229623033305572011-03-22T17:42:00.000-07:002011-03-22T17:42:26.268-07:00What Kind of Book Are You?
So...I was visiting someone's blog...and i saw this post where you had to take a quiz to see which type of book you were...
She is an aspiring journalist who seeks the truth behind every story—good and bad—so her dilemma is a tough one. Emily can tell her mom the truth, breaking the heart of the person she loves most. Or, she can suck it up, bend her principles, and start her junior year in the land of her Roman ancestors.

But the world gets a little brighter after she meets Giovanni. Or rather, after she meets his lips as he pulls her into his arms, kisses her, and then vanishes, leaving her with the most dangerous desire of all: curiosity.

Who is this mysterious boy? Why did he kiss her and then disappear? But as Emily already knows, poking into people’s private lives doesn’t always end well. Although some people call Giovanni a saint, others call him a devil. Emily soon discovers she’s put herself in peril just being near him. After going her whole life without making a single enemy, someone suddenly wants her dead.

The UNICEF Tap Project

This March, When you Take Water, Give Water

If you go to a restaurant this week, as you sit down for your meal chances are you aren’t thinking about tap water. That’s probably because clean and plentiful drinking water is a daily privilege millions of us take for granted.

Unfortunately, the lack of clean and accessible drinking water is one of the most urgent health crises facing children all over the world.

Nearly 900 million people do not have access to clean water or adequate sanitation. Every day, 22,000 children die of preventable causes, and water related illnesses is the second largest killer of children under five.

UNICEF works in more than 100 countries around the world to improve access to safe water and sanitation facilities in schools and communities and to promote safe hygiene practices. Since 1990, UNICEF has helped 1.6 billion people gain access to clean water and sanitation. UNICEF’s goal is to reduce by half the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe water and basic sanitation by 2015.

During World Water Week, March 20-26, 2011, restaurants are helping UNICEF save lives by doing something incredibly simple – inviting patrons to donate $1 or more for the tap water they usually enjoy for free.

Since 2007, the UNICEF Tap Project has provided $2.5 million towards water and sanitation programs for children in Belize, Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Guatemala, Haiti, Iraq, Togo and Vietnam. In 2010 alone, the UNICEF Tap Project raised over $1 million to help fund water and sanitation programs for children in Vietnam, Togo, Haiti, Guatemala and Central African Republic.

As a UNICEF Tap Project Volunteer, I am working with thousands of other volunteers in Lexington, Sc and nationwide who are recruiting restaurants planning numerous fundraising and awareness-building events in their communities to support the campaign. I believe in the work of UNICEF and am doing whatever it takes to save a child’s life. You can help too! By dining at a participating UNICEF Tap Project restaurant or attending a UNICEF Tap Project event, you’re helping UNICEF to reduce the number of needless deaths to zero-- just $1 raised can provide a child with safe drinking water for 40 days.

All 2011 donations to the UNICEF Tap Project will support UNICEF water programs, in Togo, Vietnam and the Central African Republic.

I hope that the citizens of Lexington, Sc and USA will support the UNICEF Tap Project. It’s so easy! By dining in a participating restaurant we can enjoy a meal with friends, learn more about UNICEF’s work to provide clean and safe drinking water to children around the world, and donate just $1 to make a difference! A single glass of water can make a difference for children around the world.

To learn more about the UNICEF Tap Project, or to locate participating restaurants and scheduled events in Lexington, please visit tapproject.org or call 1-877-PROJ-TAP.

I as everyone else would have defiantly compared the book to Pride and Prejudice, but than thought otherwise. Comparing Prom and prejudice to Pride and Prejudice wont be right thing to do. There are similarities but there are differences too.

In this book, Lizzie is taunted and treated badly because of her status as a scholarship student. I couldn’t wait till all the other Pride and Prejudice characters show up, and was little surprised well a good kind of surprised. Like I said before I wasn’t sure if I would have liked the book but as the story progressed I was caught into it and was not able to stop well until the end. My other main draw beside Lizzie was Darcy. He seemed snobby but was still nice to Lizzie. Lizzie misinterprets a lot of what she sees and hears about Darcy. There arguments made me smile. they had lots of cute moment. the silent walk they had made me smile. its hard to explain but sometime when you reading something really good or something really romantic u can just feel it, and i felt it when Lizzie's say there was silence between them but it wasn't awkward. somehow i knew what she meant. i just love every part of the book.

I loved the ending. Don’t worry I wont spoil it for people who still haven’t read it. I really like Lizzie’s character because she is a middle class girl who works and also plays piano to keep up with her scholarship. She is portrayed as a Hardworking girl, which was nice. Overall I love the book. I love the concept and every bit of the book.

You know the book is amazing when you can feel everything that's going on in the book, when you can picture every little details. and thats exactly how i felt when i was reading it. I am not sure if everyone else would like it but i defiantly loved it. Elizabeth Eulberg did a great job with this book and i cant wait to read more book she writes.

But it starts to hurt when someone u r very close to start to drift apart. and it hurts more when its all of the sudden and right in front of u. and it hurts more when u try to explain them what's going on and they don't understand. They just brush it off and leave. what would u do than. how would u fix it. what if this person means a lot to u. To what extent are u will to go just so that u can fix this situation. and what would u do, what would u feel if this person doesn't show any response or anything like that. its understandable that maybe he/she are busy that maybe they don't see anything wrong but wouldn't u at-least try and think that maybe what the person is saying is true. that maybe i did unintentionally ignored that person. why would a person close to u make up sumthing like this "that oh well i feel ignored, i feel left out". If that person really is a good frns of ur than wouldn't u at-least try to talk to them, wouldn't u at-least try to response no matter how busy u r. but than i think i shouldn't expect too much too. I never thought that frnship could be so complicated..So today i agree and maybe i will test the fact that "IF ITS MEANT TO BE THAN IT WILL HAPPEN". Vidishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09534693699879901344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9017392832530370145.post-20203140925270667642010-07-28T13:42:00.000-07:002010-07-28T13:42:50.626-07:00In My MailboxHey there......
Theodora is the matriarch of a family that has grown into a bunch of truculent knuckleheads. While she's finally gotten them all together in South Carolina to celebrate, this Christmas looks nothing like the extravagant, homey holidays of her childhood.

What happened to the days when Christmas meant tables groaning with home-cooked goodies, over-the-top decorations, and long chats in front of the fire with Pearl, her grandmother's beloved housekeeper and closest confidante?
Luckily for Theodora, a special someone who heard her plea for help arrives, with pockets full of enough Gullah magic and common sense to make Theodora's Christmas the love-filled miracle it's meant to be.
Vidishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09534693699879901344noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9017392832530370145.post-42684215402159467322010-07-11T10:20:00.001-07:002010-07-11T10:20:55.138-07:00ARC Giveaway!
ARC Giveaway!
I received these books for review a few weeks ago and I'm proud to say that every single one of them is AMAZING! I had a few duplicates with these books, so why not give them away? Haha, I'm feeling jealous of the person who'll be winning this, and I'm the one who's giving it away! So come on and join in the fun!!! Haha!

I'd like to thank the publishers who provided these books, especially S @ Penguin! Also, K @ MacMillan, and A @ HarperTeen! Also, thank you so much to my folks for shipping!

Nightshade is a book with many characters but not once will you be confused. Paranormalcy is a very VERY absorbing paranormal read with a great protagonist. The Eternal Ones will really make you believe you've lived in a previous lifetime. Halo, with Christian references, will make you want to be an angel. And Pegasus will introduce you to a world full of wonder and magic. And with these five books, come FIVE packets of 5 Gum! Why? 'Cuz there's one flavor (kind of) to mirror the color of the book...and I LOVE 5 Gum!

YYYYY Dollywood YYYYY

Dollywood…when you think about it you will probably think that’s its all goanna be about Dolly. About her life and all. But that’s where you go wrong. Yeah when you go to Dollywood located near the beautiful smoky mountains in Tennessee you are sure to find some things about dolly at this park but there is more to it. It’s an amusement park filled with lots of fun for any ages. No matter how old you are I can bet you will enjoy it no matter what. At first when my parents told my sis and me that we were going to dollywood I wasn’t sure what to expect. I went to the website to check it out and trust me I was on the website for many hours.

We were trying to decide which rollercoaster we are going to ride first. Yes you read it right rollercoaster. They have one of the fastest rollercoaster in the world. When we reached there first thing we did was grab a map..hey we needed to know where Thunderhead was located. Yup the epic day began for us with Thunderhead. Thunderhead, a wooden rollercoaster, 55mph with a 100 feet fall. I really didn’t expect that…when the ride began I was excited….but when the fall came oh men it was epic….yeah I have driven at 55mph before….but not a fall of 100 feet at that speed…it was amazing….the thrill the excitement the air the screaming and laughing and being scared all this cant be explained in words…you have to experience it yourself to know..but it was epic..Amazing…spectacular…and I can go on and on about it..lol

Anyways moving on….next up in like was mystery mine…oh trust me these names say it all….Mystery + Mine = epicenes… its very mysteries because you are in a mine and you don’t even know what’s coming your way next… it’s a high speed, extreme vertical and I mean vertical literally as of one was not enough, you have to experience that 2 time….looping roller coaster…I don’t even remember how many loops there where…I was praying good plz don’t let me fall……after each vertical lift there was 5 feet fall on a very fast speed…..let the rest be a mystery for all those plp who want to go and try….i really don’t want to spoil mystery of the mine..

There where many ride that we went on but I am only going to tell you guys abt few that I loved….next in line is Tennessee tornado…a 70 mph triple loop steel roller coaster……..rest you can imagine your self…after I came out of the ride..my head was spinning for few second but the time I was on the ride all I did was scream my lungs out and enjoy with my fellow riders….though it was very short of length…

Next up…. Daredevil fall….water ride. you will get wet…..awsome fall…it’s a super flume water ride with a 60 ft, 50 mph drop…imagine you being there….its just amazing…and yeah I surely got wet all drenched 2 time..Obvisouly because I couldn’t stop myself from riding on it again and again…

Last but not least….hey I don’t want you readers to be bored you know…anyways ….next up is dizzy disk…..you surely will get dizzy lol….its a high speed rotating and spinning ride…its amazing….its hard to explain but its just mind-blowing…I really thought I would be blown away it’s so fast but I was well settle….

Good thing about this park is that security is good…there are no chances of you getting hurt if you just follow the rules…we just had to pay entry fee…at first you might think maybe its too much but trust me the money you pay to get in is worth it…. because everything else is free well expect sky zip..i didn’t go on it since I m scared of highest but yeah rest is all free no restriction on how many rides you wana go on and how many time…

We started our day with the best of the best THUNDERHEAD so common we had to end it with the best of the best right….yeah that’s what we did…we ended the time in the park with another ride on the epic THUNDERHEAD. Even though we knew what to expect on the ride this time it didn’t really lower our excitement…we enjoyed the ride with more excitement and with the same screaming our lung out at the 100 feet fall…oh there was also a FRIENDSHIP FOUNTAIN….will tell you guys abt it later…..trust me the day at dollywood was one of the best day I had so far…
Vidishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09534693699879901344noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9017392832530370145.post-70731861506885982702010-07-07T15:38:00.000-07:002010-07-07T15:43:57.172-07:00

Smoky Mountains

Always wonder how did smoky mountain looked like. Well obviously it will look like any other mountain. But there had to be something different right. Well finally got the chance to see the smoky mountains this summer. Went out with my family and friends… my first impression: “scary”…. well I m scared of height so yeah it will be scary….but than….my true impression of it “wow beautiful…wonder how it will look in fall…when there is changes in the color of the leaf”. Driving toward the top of the mountain, didn’t fail to observe the surroundings…wondering would I be able to see any bear or any mountain lion..Hey plp do wonder don’t you think…what really caught my eye was the stream or was it a creak …well whatever it was I sure did caught my eyes…the water was flowing slowly next to me. I really wanted to stop the car and go put my feet in the cold water. Well I am not sure if the water was cold or not but I m guessing it was cold…truly the place looked very peacefully which is exactly y I wanted to stop and just sit there for a while…wonder. I just wanted to look around and enjoy the moment…. there where some tunnels along the way….and what’s really funny is Whenever a car passes by the driver would honk…well I think it was because the road where steep and curvy so they wanted to let other driver know that there were cars coming along….but mostly I think they just liked the sound of the honk echo in the tunnel…it was rather funny to me all these car honking for no reason. like taking there desire of honking out in those tunnels without getting in trouble…

Finally we reached the top….where we could actually see the mountain and the road below us…than I realized how high we were at that point…also one more thing that I realized that the point where I was standing I was actually at two places at once…..”Tn and NC border line”…..the first thing that came to my mind was oh its like A Walk to remember…yeah the movie…remember how amy wanted to be in two places at ones yeah just like that….it was just great…..did take lots of pic….will surely put some of it……I enjoyed my trip to smoky…its hard to put the feeling the experiences in word..but only I know what I mean by peaceful…some time all u want to do is drive along the road don’t stop let the wind touch ur face gently and just keep enjoying the time while it last…that’s how it was for me…….
Vidishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09534693699879901344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9017392832530370145.post-81706541177600313312010-07-06T13:40:00.002-07:002010-07-06T13:51:51.892-07:00Hey allHey all.........My name is vidisha......this is my first time on blog...i m still trying to figure things out on the blog site.....i surely love to read books...Vidishahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09534693699879901344noreply@blogger.com0
